I lived the first 32 years of my life in Kent, in the UK with a live-in partner of 8 years, 6 cats, 2 rabbits, 5 fish and a hamster. However in April 2004, that all changed, and I escaped Sean's bullying by escaping across the width of the country and I'm now starting to pick up the threads of my life in Cornwall. Of all the pets that I used to have - I only managed to hold on to my favourite cat, "Jade". When I picked the title picture for this blog of one woman and her big cat companion, I never thought that it would become the mirror for my own life. But Ho Hum!
I got switched on to Science Fiction before my teens and through that developed an amateur interest in astronomy too. I gobbled up the juvenille Heinlein's and eventually stumbled onto a copy of A World Out of Time by Larry Niven in the school library. After that I never looked back and used to Co-manage the author's unoffical home page on the net,
www.larryniven.org.
My interest in Cross Stitch started in 1999 when I visited my friend
Cheryl Ennis, who was stitching on a Round Robin. I was fascinated, and I then went out and bought a kit of my own, A Teddy Bear's Picnic. This was hardly the perfect kit for a beginner as it contained half stitches and french knots... but I completed it, and since then I haven't looked back. I started keeping a Stitching Diary in February 2003, this is archived on a
Geocities Website, and in January 2004, Bravenet started this new service, so now my stitching exploits, are here for all to see. This blog isn't just about stitching though, I talk about my pets, what I'm reading, what I've seen at the cinema and the weather too.
